Description

Teacher Bio: Krystal Marx

Krystal Marx lives in the foodie paradise of Burien, Washington where she is in the second year of her four-year term on the Burien City Council – a race where she, an unknown, took on four opponents (including the well-known incumbent) and came out ahead. She currently serves on the King County Board of Health in her Councilwoman capacity. When not working on Council issues, Krystal is the Vice Chair of the King County Young Democrats, and volunteers on the Recruitment & Bench Building subcommittee of the King County Democrats’ Outreach Committee while also working part-time as a Program Facilitator for She Should Run – a nonpartisan organization committed to seeing 250,000 women in office. She is active as the leader of a volunteer organization focused on homeless outreach and community-identified training, and attributes her passion for public service to time spent experiencing homelessness as a child and a desire to stand up for her LGBTQ community. In her free time, Krystal enjoys chasing her four children, watching Netflix with her wonderful husband (an Army combat veteran), cooking, reading, and finding more ways to empower others.
