**This is a 6-week course. Your registration fee includes 1 class per week for 6 weeks**
[Fall Quarter / Term II] 10/21/19 – 11/29/19
[Wednesdays] 6:30PM – 8:30PM
There is zero prerequisite knowledge for this course! Astronomy is a subject that a lot of people have misconceptions about; this course will start at the very basics and get as involved as we have time for. As an Introduction to Astronomy, we will cover the basics of many different fields of astrophysics. We will start close to home by investigating Earth systems and will slowly work our way out to the edge of the universe! Bring your wild questions about concepts you’ve seen in movies or in random articles on the internet – we will work to unpack them all! Don’t worry – aliens, black holes, and ‘the fabric of spacetime’ are all part of the curriculum!

Description
Teacher Bio: Isabel Mills
My name is Isabel Mills – I’m Alaskan raised, but transplanted to Washington for school and decided to stick around this beautiful state. I have a passion for music, traveling, friendship, science – but most of all, for accessible education! As a female astrophysics major, I struggled a lot to find my place in the field. These struggles drove me to increase access to science education for others.
